Put the watt-hour figure in the title — it is the closest thing to a range specification buyers trust.

1. Charge the battery fully and note how long a real ride lasts. State the range honestly rather than repeating the manufacturer’s claim.
2. Find the battery capacity in watt-hours and the motor power in watts, and check the battery for any swelling or damage.
3. Test every assist level, the display, the lights and the brakes, and check whether a spare key for the battery lock exists.

Spring and summer are strongest, though electric bikes sell better through winter than conventional ones because commuters buy year round. Mid-drive systems from known brands sell fastest.

Almost always collected, and the buyer should ride it. If you must post, the battery is classed as dangerous goods by most couriers and often cannot be sent at all — check before you promise anything.

How do I show a bike is not stolen?

Photograph the frame serial under the bottom bracket and offer to check it against a national bike register with the buyer. Honest sellers do this and buyers notice.

Is a crashed carbon frame safe to sell?

Not without full disclosure and ideally an inspection. Impact damage in carbon can be internal and invisible, and a failure under load is serious.
