Buying used is mostly a question of knowing what to look at before you pay. Every category has two or three faults that matter and a dozen that do not, and the difference is not obvious until someone points it out. Each guide covers the checks worth making on that item, what a fair price looks like at each grade, the questions to ask the seller, and what is listed right now.
Condition is described by the seller against five grades — New with Tags, Like New, Good, Fair and For Parts. Nobody inspects an item on your behalf, we do not authenticate anything, and there is no buyer protection, so the description and photographs are what you are buying on. What each grade means is worth two minutes before your first purchase.

What a label is worth second hand comes down to the model line, where it was made and whether the parts are original — not the logo. There are now 3543 brand value guides covering Marks and Spencer, Next, Gucci, ASOS, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Zara, Versace and more, each with the price at every condition grade and where the serial or date code is stamped.
