2. Look for burn-in by displaying a plain grey image full screen
3. Search sold listings for that exact model and storage tier

What to state in the listing

• Exact make, model and storage capacity
• Android version installed, and whether updates are still supported
• Network unlocked or carrier locked, and which carrier
• Battery condition, and whether the screen or battery has been replaced

Make, model, storage and unlock status: “Google Pixel 7 128GB Unlocked”. Buyers filter by exact model. State how much longer the phone receives security updates if you know — almost nobody does, and for Android buyers it is genuinely decisive.

Preparing and photographing it

1. Note the exact make, model and storage from Settings → About phone. “Android phone” alone is not a listing.
2. Check the battery health if your model reports it, and time a realistic day of use if it does not.
3. Remove your Google account, then factory reset. A phone still tied to your account triggers factory reset protection and is unusable to the buyer.

Fast movers when priced against current market rather than what you paid. Values drop steadily and there is no benefit in waiting.

Small, valuable and a common target for payment fraud. Confirm cleared funds before it leaves you, and meet in a public place for local handovers.

Once it passes the device stops getting security updates, which caps its useful life. Buyers check it, so quote it in the listing rather than letting them find it.

What should I do before selling a phone?

Back it up, sign out of your account, then factory reset it. A device still tied to an account cannot be set up by the buyer and will come straight back.
