1. The model number is on the nameplate on the tool body, and the date code stamped beside it gives the year and week it was made
2. Brushless tools carry the XR badge and the word brushless printed on the housing — photograph it, because it changes the price materially
3. Battery packs have their capacity in amp-hours printed on the label, and many have a charge-state button worth pressing on camera

What lifts any workbench, whatever the label

Benches are heavy and hard to post, so most sell locally and the top surface is what buyers judge.

3. Push the frame sideways to test for racking

What to state in the listing

• Worktop length, depth and working height
• Top material and thickness
• Whether a vice, dog holes or storage are included
• Frame material, stability, and whether it dismantles

1. Check the top for flatness, deep gouges and burn marks, and note whether it can be planed or replaced.
2. Test the bench for racking by pushing it sideways, and tighten every bolt.
3. Check any vice for jaw alignment and smooth screw action, and note whether it is included.
