What you keep on a typical sale
On a £60 sale — around the middle for this category — a 20% commission would take £12 and a 10% one £6. On WishThrift you keep the whole £60, and the buyer pays no surcharge either. The full fee comparison sets out what each marketplace actually charges.
When toys and collectables actually sell
Collectables sell year round to adults, with a pronounced Christmas peak on anything a child might want. Retired LEGO sets and scarce cards appreciate rather than depreciate, so there is no urgency to sell those — the urgency is on current sets, which compete with retail discounting.
Before you list anything
Two things decide most of the price in every category, and both are settled before you write the listing. The first is the condition grade: WishThrift uses five — New with Tags, Like New, Good, Fair and For Parts — and what each one means is worth reading, because grading optimistically does not raise the price, it just produces a buyer who arrives expecting something else. The second is the price itself: the toys & games value guides price each item across all five grades.

Frequently asked questions
Should I sell collectables individually or in bulk?
Check every item first, then list anything of real value individually and bundle the rest. Selling a valuable card or set inside a job lot is the most expensive mistake in this category.
Does original packaging matter?
Considerably. Boxes, inserts and instructions can be worth as much as the item itself to a collector, so gather everything before you list.
Is incomplete LEGO worth selling?
Yes. There is a strong market for bulk bricks by weight and for individual minifigures. Just be explicit that the set is incomplete rather than hoping the buyer will not count.
