Pram Resale Value

A used pram typically sells for between £50 and £300, with most changing hands around £175. Prams are one of the strongest second-hand categories because they are expensive new and used only briefly.

The short version

  • Typical range: £50 – £300
  • Biggest single factor: condition — see the table below
  • Category: Baby & Kids Items
  • Cost to sell on WishThrift: nothing, at any price

What a used pram is worth by condition

Condition does more to the price than anything else. These figures are worked from the top of the range for prams, so treat them as a starting point and adjust for the specifics of yours.

ConditionTypical priceWhat it means
New with Tags£300Unused, tags or seals intact
Like New£255Barely used, no visible wear
Good£195Light signs of use, complete and working
Fair£135Heavily used, or a described fault or missing part
For Parts£75Not working or incomplete, sold as seen

These are the five grades WishThrift listings use, and sellers set the grade themselves — see what each condition grade means. Figures are shown in pounds as a reference point. On WishThrift prices display in your own currency, and sellers set their own asking price.

What raises the value of a pram

  • Recognised brands with strong resale followings
  • Complete travel systems with carrycot and adapters
  • Clean, unfaded fabrics that have been washed
  • Original raincover, basket and instructions

What lowers it

  • Missing adapters, which are model-specific and costly
  • Stained or sun-faded fabrics
  • Worn wheels or a frame that no longer folds cleanly
  • Models discontinued long enough that spares have dried up

How to work out what yours is worth

  1. Identify the exact model and year from the frame label
  2. Fold and unfold it several times to confirm the mechanism is clean
  3. Wash the fabrics and photograph them dry in daylight

Once you have those three answers you can place your own pram on the table above with reasonable confidence. If it sits between two rows, price it toward the lower one — items priced honestly sell faster than items priced hopefully.

Frequently asked questions

Do prams hold their value second hand?

Some brands hold value remarkably well, because they are expensive new and typically used for only a year or two.

Should I include the adapters and raincover?

Yes. They are model-specific, expensive to replace individually, and their absence is one of the main reasons buyers negotiate down.

Is it safe to buy or sell a used pram?

Generally yes, provided the frame is undamaged and the mechanism locks properly. Car seats are a different matter and need more care.
