- Changes to This Agreement
📋 By registering as a seller on WishThrift, you agree to this Seller Agreement in full. This agreement works alongside our Terms & Conditions — in the event of conflict, this Seller Agreement takes precedence for seller-specific matters.
1. Who This Agreement Applies To
This Seller Agreement applies to any WishThrift user who creates a seller account, lists items for sale, or completes a sale through the Platform. “Seller”, “you”, and “your” refer to you as the selling party.
By activating a seller account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old, have the legal right to sell the items you list, and that all items you list belong to you or you have full authorisation to sell them.
2. Becoming a Seller
To sell on WishThrift, you must:
- Create a WishThrift account and complete identity verification where required
- Connect a valid Stripe account to receive payouts
- Accept this Seller Agreement and our Terms & Conditions
- Provide accurate profile information including a username and profile photo
WishThrift reserves the right to refuse seller registration at its discretion, including where we have reason to believe the applicant has previously violated our policies.
3. Listing Requirements
Every listing on WishThrift must meet the following standards:
3.1 Photos
- Minimum 2 photos required; we recommend 4–6
- Photos must be of the actual item being sold — not stock images or photos from another listing
- Photos must be clear, well-lit, and show the item accurately including any flaws
- At least one photo must show the brand label/tag
3.2 Description
- Must accurately describe the item: brand, style/model name, size, colour, material where known
- Must disclose all flaws, marks, repairs, alterations, or missing parts
- Must not contain false claims, misleading statements, or keyword stuffing
3.3 Pricing
- You set your own price — WishThrift does not restrict pricing
- The listed price is the price the Buyer pays (before any agreed offer)
- You may not add hidden charges or request additional payment outside the Platform
4. Authenticity Policy
🚫 Zero tolerance: Listing counterfeit, replica, or fake branded items is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent account suspension and potential legal action.
All items listed on WishThrift must be:
- Genuine branded goods — authentic items from the named brand
- Not counterfeit, replica, “inspired by”, or “1:1” copies
- Not altered to appear as a different brand or to add fake branding
WishThrift may request proof of authenticity for high-value items (typically items priced above $200). Acceptable proof includes original receipts, purchase history screenshots, or authentication certificates.
WishThrift reserves the right to remove any listing it suspects is inauthentic without prior notice. If a sold item is later confirmed counterfeit, the Seller is responsible for the full refund to the Buyer and any associated costs.
5. Condition Grading Standards
All items must be graded using the WishThrift condition scale below. Selecting an inaccurate grade is grounds for dispute resolution in the Buyer’s favour.
Unworn, original tags still attached
Worn once or twice, no visible wear
Light use, minor wash wear only
Visible wear but no damage or holes
Significant wear, small flaws present — fully disclosed
When in doubt, grade conservatively. A Buyer receiving a better item than described is a pleasant surprise. The reverse triggers disputes.
6. Shipping & Fulfilment Obligations
When a sale is confirmed, you enter into a fulfilment obligation. The timeline is:
6.1 Packaging
Items must be packaged appropriately to prevent damage in transit. You are responsible for damage caused by inadequate packaging.
6.2 Shipping Costs
Shipping costs are agreed between Buyer and Seller and reflected in the listing price or as a separate shipping charge set by the Seller. WishThrift is not responsible for shipping costs or courier selection.
6.3 Lost or Damaged Items
If an item is lost or damaged in transit, the Seller is responsible for resolving the issue with the courier and/or providing a replacement or refund to the Buyer. WishThrift may withhold escrow funds until the situation is resolved.
6.4 Communication Delays
If you cannot ship within 3 days due to illness or emergency, contact the Buyer and WishThrift support promptly. Proactive communication may prevent auto-cancellation.
7. Local Pickup Rules
If a Buyer and Seller agree to local pickup instead of shipping:
- The Buyer must still pay through WishThrift’s checkout before collection
- The pickup must take place in a public, safe location
- The Buyer must confirm receipt through the Platform at the time of collection
- Funds are released only upon Platform confirmation — never on verbal agreement alone
- WishThrift recommends meeting at coffee shops, shopping centres, or train stations during daylight hours
Agreeing to accept cash or payment outside the Platform for local pickup is a violation of this Agreement and may result in account suspension.
8. Fees & Payouts
8.1 Standard Seller Fee
WishThrift charges a 5% platform fee on the final sale price (excluding any shipping charge) for standard sellers. This fee is automatically deducted from the payout before transfer to your Stripe account.
8.2 Stripe Processing Fee
Stripe’s payment processing fee (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) applies to all sellers including Founding Sellers. This fee is charged by Stripe and not retained by WishThrift.
8.3 Payout Schedule
Once the escrow release event occurs (Buyer confirms receipt OR 7-day auto-release), your payout is transferred to your connected Stripe account within 1–3 business days.
8.4 No Other Fees
There are no monthly fees, listing fees, subscription fees, or any other charges to sell on WishThrift. You pay only when you make a sale.
9. Founding Seller Terms
⭐ Founding Seller status is granted to the first 100 sellers to register on WishThrift. It is one of the most valuable perks we offer.
Founding Sellers receive a permanent 0% WishThrift platform fee on all sales, subject to the following conditions:
- Non-transferable: Founding Seller status is permanently tied to the individual account and email address used at registration. It cannot be sold, gifted, transferred, or inherited by another person or entity.
- One account only: Founding Seller status applies to a single account. If we discover a Founding Seller has created additional accounts, all accounts may be suspended.
- Good standing required: Founding Seller status is revoked if the account is found to have violated this Agreement, the Terms & Conditions, or the Authenticity Policy at any time — including retroactively for violations discovered after status was granted.
- Account closure: If a Founding Seller voluntarily closes their account, Founding Seller status is forfeited permanently and cannot be reinstated.
- Stripe fees still apply: Founding Sellers still pay Stripe’s processing fee (currently 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction) as this is charged by Stripe, not WishThrift.
10. Make an Offer Feature
Buyers may submit offers below your listed price. As a Seller, you have full control over how you respond:
- Accept: The offer becomes the binding sale price. The Buyer is charged and escrow begins.
- Counter: You propose a different price. The Buyer may accept, counter again, or decline.
- Decline: The offer is rejected. The listing remains live at the original price.
Offers expire after 24 hours if not responded to. Accepting an offer creates a binding sale contract — you cannot later refuse to fulfil a sale you accepted.
11. Prohibited Items
You may not list the following on WishThrift:
- Counterfeit, replica, fake, or “inspired by” branded goods
- Stolen items or items obtained through fraud
- Non-fashion items (electronics, food, services, software, gift cards)
- Items that infringe third-party intellectual property or trademark rights
- Hazardous, illegal, or age-restricted items
- Items you do not have the legal right to sell
- Unbranded or generic items (WishThrift is a branded fashion marketplace)
- Used underwear or swimwear (hygiene policy)
WishThrift may remove any listing that violates this policy without notice. Repeated violations will result in account suspension.
12. Seller Closet Page
Each seller has a public Closet page at wishthrift.com/sellers/[username]. Your Closet page displays all your active listings and your seller profile. By maintaining a Closet page, you:
- Consent to your username, profile photo, bio, location (city level only), and listings being publicly visible
- Confirm that all content on your Closet page complies with these policies
- Accept that WishThrift may feature your Closet page in platform promotions or search results
13. Seller Ratings & Reviews
After each completed transaction, Buyers may leave a rating and review for the Seller. You agree that:
- Honest reviews are a fundamental part of the platform’s trust model
- You will not attempt to manipulate, suppress, or incentivise reviews
- WishThrift will not remove negative reviews unless they violate our content policies (harassment, false identity, off-platform transactions)
- You may report a review you believe is unfair — WishThrift will investigate and make a final decision
14. Account Suspension & Termination
WishThrift may suspend or permanently terminate a seller account for any of the following:
- Listing or selling counterfeit items (automatic permanent ban)
- Repeated failure to ship within the 3-day window
- Conducting transactions off-platform to avoid fees
- Fraudulent activity, including fake listings, shill bidding, or review manipulation
- Harassment or abuse of other users
- Accumulating an excessive number of unresolved disputes
- Creating multiple accounts to circumvent policies or suspension
In serious cases (fraud, counterfeits), suspension is immediate and permanent without prior warning. For less severe violations, we will typically issue a warning before suspension.
Suspended sellers with outstanding orders must fulfil those orders or face immediate fund forfeiture to the affected Buyers.
15. Seller Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless WishThrift and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:
- Your listings, items, or conduct on the Platform
- Your breach of this Seller Agreement or the Terms & Conditions
- Your infringement of any third-party rights, including intellectual property rights
- Any claim by a Buyer arising from an item you sold
- Your listing of counterfeit or prohibited items
16. Changes to This Agreement
WishThrift may update this Seller Agreement at any time. We will notify active sellers of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of your seller account after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Agreement.
