Second-hand gaming in Austin typically sells for $7 to $1,200. Generation and completeness set the price. A console with its original controller, cables and box is worth substantially more than the same console loose in a carrier bag.

Buying gaming in Austin
Austin is a tech and music city with a very large university at its centre, and both sides of that produce a real second-hand market.
Regional coding still catches people out, and a disc or cartridge from the wrong territory may simply refuse to run. Trying the exact combination in front of you removes a problem that is tedious to unpick afterwards.
What to check in person
Check the storage and see how much is genuinely free, and confirm any download codes were never redeemed, since a used code is worth nothing. On cartridge machines, inspect the contacts and the label, which is where counterfeits give themselves up.
Collecting it in Austin
It fits in a bag, so most people meet on the way to something else. A station or a high street works, and neither side needs a car.
The interstate splits the city and crossing it at the wrong time of day is the main cost of a collection, so most handovers get arranged on one side or the other. Parking near the centre and the campus is the usual sticking point.

Student leases turn over in August and tech hiring runs on its own cycle, so there are effectively two churn seasons here rather than one. Desks, chairs and monitors appear in volume whenever hiring slows.
Photograph the machine actually powered up and running a game, which answers the only question that matters. Give the model and revision number from the underside, and state the storage size rather than leaving it to be guessed. Peaks sharply before Christmas and again when a new console generation is announced.
Peer-to-peer payment apps dominate private sales, and buyers will usually offer one before they offer cash. Sales tax does not apply to a private sale between individuals.
