What lifts the price

  • Mesh heads rather than rubber pads
  • Recognised brands with a following

What pulls it down

  • Missing looms and rack clamps, which are specific
  • Discontinued modules with no support

Selling an electronic drum kit in India

UPI has largely replaced cash for in-person handovers and is instant and traceable, which suits a private sale well. Cash on delivery is still widely expected for anything posted, and it is worth deciding your position on it before you list.

India’s second-hand market runs heavily through direct conversation — buyers expect to message, negotiate and ask questions before committing, and a listing that answers those questions up front sells noticeably faster than one that does not.

India Post, Delhivery and DTDC all offer nationwide coverage, and courier cost varies sharply between metros and smaller towns.

Working out what yours is worth

  • Inspect mesh heads for tears
  • Confirm the loom, clamps and power supply are present

Getting it ready

  • Note the module brand and model, which is where most of the value sits.
  • Identify which pads are mesh and which are rubber, and test every pad and cymbal trigger.

Photograph

  • The module close up, screen on
  • The rack, clamps and loom cable, plus any tear or crack

Put in the description

  • Module brand and model
  • Which pads are mesh and which rubber, and how many of each

Multi-piece and awkward but lighter than acoustic. Collection is usual; if posting, box the module separately and photograph the loom before packing.

Lifts in September and before Christmas. Kits with recent modules and mesh heads sell within days.

It costs nothing to list

There is no listing fee, no selling fee and no commission, so the ₹89,800 a buyer pays is the ₹89,800 you keep. You and the buyer settle up and arrange the handover between yourselves; WishThrift does not hold the money or ship the item.

Common questions

Where can I sell an electronic drum kit in India?

List it free on WishThrift and deal with the buyer direct. There is no selling fee, so the whole amount stays with you. UPI has largely replaced cash for in-person handovers and is instant and traceable, which suits a private sale well. Cash on delivery is still widely expected for anything posted, and it is worth deciding your position on it before you list.

Are the heads mesh or rubber?

Say which. Mesh feels far closer to acoustic drums and is worth meaningfully more.

What makes an electronic kit worth more?

Mesh heads and a supported module. Rubber-pad kits sell for considerably less because they feel much less like real drums.

What is double triggering?

A pad registering two hits from one strike, usually a worn sensor. It is the most common fault and buyers test for it.
