Srinagar is unlike anywhere else in the country: it has genuinely cold, snowy winters, a long tradition in carpets, shawls and papier-mache, and an economy shaped heavily by tourism seasons.
Home gym equipment is heavy, cheap second hand and almost never worth posting, so it is one of the strongest local categories there is. A great deal of it is bought with good intentions, used briefly and sold on barely marked.
What to check in person
Try it under load rather than looking at it. Stand on the treadmill while it runs, sit on the bike and turn the resistance up, and listen for the belt or the flywheel. Check the frame welds and the adjustment pins for play.

It needs a car boot rather than a bag, so agree somewhere you can actually stop for a few minutes. That is easier away from the centre than in it.
