1. Read the label for the fill: down, feather or synthetic wadding, and the outer fabric.
2. Check the hood, its fur trim and whether both detach, plus every zip, popper and drawcord.
3. Test whether water still beads on the outer, and say honestly if the coating has washed off.

What buyers ask

Can peeling FF canvas be repaired?

No. The printed layer is bonded to a backing and once it lifts there is no way to reattach it invisibly. Photograph the affected panel clearly and price the bag as damaged.

Is a 1990s Baguette worth more than a new one?

Often yes, particularly in the rarer beaded and embroidered fabrics. Early examples are bought as collectors’ pieces, which the current production versions are not.
