Sell Your Pram in the US

Used prams in the US typically sell for $67 to $405. Prams are one of the strongest second-hand categories because they are expensive new and used only briefly.

What lifts the price

  • Recognised brands with strong resale followings
  • Clean, unfaded fabrics that have been washed

What pulls it down

  • Stained or sun-faded fabrics
  • Models discontinued long enough that spares have dried up

Selling a pram in the US

Peer-to-peer payment apps dominate private sales, and buyers will usually offer one before they offer cash. Sales tax does not apply to a private sale between individuals.

USPS, UPS and FedEx all cover the country. USPS Ground Advantage is normally cheapest for anything under a few pounds in weight; above that the gap narrows quickly.

Distances are the real constraint. State plainly whether you will ship or collection only, because a buyer three states away will otherwise ask.

Working out what yours is worth

  • Identify the exact model and year from the frame label
  • Wash the fabrics and photograph them dry in daylight

Getting it ready

  • Fold and unfold it several times to confirm the mechanism latches properly, and test the brake on a slope.
  • Identify the exact model and check which accessories you have: raincover, footmuff, carrycot, adapters.

Photograph

  • Folded, so buyers can judge whether it fits their boot
  • The seat fabric and harness, clean and clearly lit

Put in the description

  • Folded dimensions, since boot space is a real constraint for buyers
  • Condition of the fabrics, harness and wheels, described honestly

Brand and model with accessories: “Bugaboo Fox 3 Pram with Carrycot and Raincover”. Parents research one specific model and search for it by name, so the model is essential. Say whether it is a full travel system, since that is a different and higher-value search.

Consistently strong, with demand steady all year. Recognised brands sell within days; unbranded travel systems take much longer and sell for little.

It costs nothing to list

There is no listing fee, no selling fee and no commission, so the $404 a buyer pays is the $404 you keep. You and the buyer settle up and arrange the handover between yourselves; WishThrift does not hold the money or ship the item.

Where in the US

The United States is a big place and what sells well moves with it. These are the parts of the United States with their own page for prams.

Common questions

Where can I sell a pram in the US?

List it free on WishThrift and deal with the buyer direct. There is no selling fee, so the whole amount stays with you. Peer-to-peer payment apps dominate private sales, and buyers will usually offer one before they offer cash. Sales tax does not apply to a private sale between individuals.

Does it fold easily?

Demonstrate it if they collect. A stiff or sticking fold is the most common complaint about used prams and is worth mentioning before they find it.

Should I include the adapters and raincover?

Yes. They are model-specific, expensive to replace individually, and their absence is one of the main reasons buyers negotiate down.

Is it safe to buy or sell a used pram?

Generally yes, provided the frame is undamaged and the mechanism locks properly. Car seats are a different matter and need more care.
