Second-hand gaming in Rochester typically sells for $7 to $1,200. Generation and completeness set the price. A console with its original controller, cables and box is worth substantially more than the same console loose in a carrier bag.

Buying gaming in Rochester
Rochester built its wealth on photography, optics and photocopying, and the companies that did it left the city an unusual concentration of precision engineering skill and a major museum of photography. Lake-effect snow here is heavy and reliable.
Older machines depend on cables and power supplies that are now hard to source separately, and a console arriving without the right one is unusable. Seeing the whole set connected and working is the only way to know it is complete.
What to check in person
Ask for it to be set up and running before you arrive, then load a game yourself rather than watching a menu. Listen to the disc drive, check every controller port and make sure the console has been removed from the previous owner’s account.
Collecting it in Rochester
It fits in a bag, so most people meet on the way to something else. A station or a high street works, and neither side needs a car.
The road network was built for a considerably larger population than the city now holds, so crossing town is quick and a kerbside load is rarely contested. Lake-effect snow can arrive fast and heavy between November and March, so agree a fallback rather than assuming the day will hold.

The optics and imaging industry left genuinely good camera equipment in private hands here in a way that is unusual anywhere else. The universities clear student housing each May.
Reset the console and remove your account before the buyer arrives, because a machine still signed in is the commonest reason a local sale falls apart on the doorstep. Say exactly which cables and controllers are included. Peaks sharply before Christmas and again when a new console generation is announced.
Peer-to-peer payment apps dominate private sales, and buyers will usually offer one before they offer cash. Sales tax does not apply to a private sale between individuals.
