What holds its value across BAPE

1. Photograph the interior neck and wash tags flat — on this label they are the first thing a buyer asks to see
2. On a shark hoodie, photograph the teeth stitching and the full-zip hood, since the quality of that embroidery is where copies fail
3. Say whether the piece is from the NIGO era or current production, because the two sell at quite different prices

• Condition of every zip, buckle and strap anchor
• Whether it is cabin approved, and whether a rain cover or hip belt is included

Preparing and photographing it

1. Find or estimate the capacity in litres, which is often printed on a label inside or on the back panel.
2. Run every zip along its full length, and check the pulls, the buckles and the stitching at the strap anchors.
3. Empty every pocket, clean the base and shoulder straps, and check for fraying at the seams.

Steady with lifts in spring, in late summer for travel, and in September for school and university. Recognised outdoor and travel brands sell fastest.

Packs down and posts cheaply. Compress it with the straps and use a large mailing bag rather than a box.

How do buyers check a BAPE hoodie?

They look at the interior tags, the stitch density on the shark teeth and the camo print alignment across seams. Photograph all three and most questions disappear.

Does faded camo reduce the price?

Substantially, because the print is the product. Wash streetwear cold and inside out, and if yours has faded, photograph it in daylight rather than under warm light.
