Sell Your Earrings in India

Used earrings in India typically sell for ₹1,050 to ₹10,500 (about $11 to $110). Earrings sell fast and cheap to post, but there is one thing buyers care about above all: whether the posts and backs are the metal you say they are, because skin reacts to the wrong one.

What pulls it down

  • Bent posts and damaged hooks

Selling earrings in India

UPI has largely replaced cash for in-person handovers and is instant and traceable, which suits a private sale well. Cash on delivery is still widely expected for anything posted, and it is worth deciding your position on it before you list.

Negotiation is normal and expected rather than a sign of a difficult buyer. Price with a little room in it and say whether the price is firm.

Two practical things shape a sale here. Courier serviceability varies by PIN code rather than by city, so check the buyer’s code before promising delivery. And packaging matters more than most sellers expect on long domestic routes — a poorly wrapped parcel arriving damaged is the commonest cause of a dispute.

Working out what yours is worth

  • Confirm both backs are present
  • Look for hallmarks on the post or hook

Getting it ready

  • Check the posts and backs for a hallmark or metal marking, and note whether the backs are included.
  • Clean gently and check any stone setting is secure.

Photograph

  • The posts and backs, showing type and any marking
  • The stones or detail close up, plus any scratch, tarnish or missing back

Put in the description

  • Metal, with any hallmark photographed
  • Fitting type, and whether backs are included

Cheapest jewellery to post. Use a small rigid box with the pair secured to card, and a tracked service — small parcels are exactly what goes astray.

Lifts sharply before Christmas, Valentine’s Day and Mother’s Day. Hallmarked silver and gold studs sell within days.

It costs nothing to list

There is no listing fee, no selling fee and no commission, so the ₹10,250 a buyer pays is the ₹10,250 you keep. You and the buyer settle up and arrange the handover between yourselves; WishThrift does not hold the money or ship the item.

Common questions

Where can I sell earrings in India?

List it free on WishThrift and deal with the buyer direct. There is no selling fee, so the whole amount stays with you. UPI has largely replaced cash for in-person handovers and is instant and traceable, which suits a private sale well. Cash on delivery is still widely expected for anything posted, and it is worth deciding your position on it before you list.

Are the backs included?

Confirm, and say what type. Missing butterfly backs are cheap to replace but the buyer needs to know to order them.

Are used earrings worth selling?

Precious metal and designer pairs sell reasonably. Costume earrings sell for small sums but still move.

Does hygiene put buyers off?

Some buyers are cautious, so clean them properly and say that you have. It makes a real difference in this category.
