Maker, line and era beat description every time: “Vintage Pedigree Sindy Doll, 1970s, Original Outfit” or “Barbie 1990s Bundle, 5 Dolls”. Collectors search the maker’s name, so if there is a mark on the neck, that word belongs in the title even if you do not recognise it.

Collector dolls sell year-round to a specialist audience. Play dolls and bundles are seasonal and do best in the run-up to Christmas, when parents are buying in quantity.
